Authentic Models Jenny JN-7H Barnstormer Model Airplane

Here is the model of a plane that made the transition from a military use to the private sector, and had an impact on the entire country. The fleet of Curtiss Jenny airplanes were used primarily as training aircraft or relegated to reconnaissance missions in the later years of World War I. Featuring engines of about 90 horsepower, they were used to train pilots for gunnery and bombing runs. Many of the planes were upgraded with 180 horsepower engines in the mid-1920s.
In the late 20s, many of these planes were sold, quite inexpensively, on the civilian market. They were often used to transport mail, but their most famous use was in early air shows and barnstorming. Pilots would travel from town to town performing aerial stunts such as wing-walking and other daring acrobatic maneuvers. Since it was a two-seater, some would charge up to five dollars for rides. Their affordability and the common sight of them firmly planted the notion of flight into the mind of America.
