The Presidential Seal is based on the Great Seal of the United States. In 1945, Truman ordered this seal be redesigned. He did not like the way the eagle’s head faced the arrows of war. He believed that the president, although prepared for war, should always look towards peace. Crafted of mahogany and hand painted, our detailed plaque showcases the Presidential Seal.
