The "Jenny" was used as a trainer in World War I, and 95% of all pilots at the time flew in them. An early model J was also used as a reconnaissance plane against Pancho Villas Mexican Revolutionaries in 1914, then in 1916 modified and designated the JN-4. After World War I, many of these aircraft were sold, scraped, or given away.
