The X-15 was an experimental aircraft model dating from the 1960s, and was used to test a variety of propulsion systems as well as conduct general high-speed testing. The X-15 did not take off under its own power, but was rather slung underwing from a B-52 and then launched mid-air. The X-15 is one of the most important experimental aircraft of the 1950s and 60s, three models having flown nearly 200 missions, and setting a world speed record that held until 2004. This historic aircraft is recreated here in a high-quality model whose superb finish makes it a prime choice for any aviation enthusiast.
