The SH-3 Sea King was developed by Sikorsky in response to a U.S. Navy request for an all-weather amphibious helicopter, and in 1961 it became operational as the primary American submarine hunter/killer. Over the years, several models were developed to serve a variety of roles, and many other nations adopted the SeaKing or a variant thereof. Presented here is a Marine Corps VH-3D SeaKing, the primary presidential helicopter until it was replaced by VH-60 Seahawks. With painstaking detail to ensure the accuracy of the Marine One coloration, this model is a prize piece for any collector.
