One of a small number of aircraft developed for military service without the promise of a government contract, the T-34 Mentor is still utilized as a trainer by the military forces of several nations, including the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, marking nearly 60 years of service. The T-34 is also favored by a number of civilian aerial demonstration teams and pilots, and it is used by NASA as a chase plane for vehicles too slow for the F-18s normally used. Beechcraft attempted to produce a jet-powered variant for U.S. Military service, but the type was not accepted by either the US Air Force or Navy. However, an upgraded turboprop version known as the T-34C Turbo-Mentor was accepted for U.S. Navy and export use.
With a rakish orange-and-white trainer paint scheme, this model T-34C is detailed to match U.S. Navy trainer Turbo-Mentors to a high degree of accuracy, something that makes this model a prime choice for any collector or enthusiast.
