The HH-60J, dubbed the Jayhawk, is a Search and Rescue helicopter developed for the U.S. Coast Guard from the SH-60 Seahawk that the U.S. Navy uses. Both airframes are related to the UH-60 Black Hawk and are part of the widespread and diverse S-70 familiy of Sikorsky helicopters. The U.S. Coast Guard has 35 Jayhawks in service (plus 7 in storage), and has been using them as search and rescue aircraft since the late 1980s.
Jayhawks also seee service as drug traffic interdictors, and the entire range of helicopters is going through the Deepwater upgrade program that will upgrade all models to the MH-60T model, giving them both increased firepower and protection for use as drug interdictors.
The HH-60J is rendered here in a fine reproduction of the high-visibility U.S. Coast Guard paint scheme. Tremendous attention to detail and superb craftsmanship make this model a prime choice for any collector or enthusiast.
