The F-4 Phantom was one of the American military's primary aircraft during the Vietnam conflict, and is the second most-produced Western jet fighter of all time, with more than 5,000 units built. The Phantom was used by every branch of the U.S. armed forces but the Army during the Vietnam conflict, and undertook a wide variety of missions, including several ground-attack roles. The Phantom has also been operated by 11 other nations, and it has seen extensive combat use in the employ of those nations, some of which still utilize the fighter in modern times.
The F-4 Phantom rendered here is finished in a low-visibility paint scheme with Wild Weasel group markings. Wild Weasel missions are flown to suppress hostile air defenses in advance of primary aerial strike missions. A trained eye will pick out the accurately detailed low-visibility emblems and markings that make this precisely rendered model a must-have for any collection.
