The F/A-18 Hornet is one of the most modern fighters in widespread, worldwide use. The Hornet was introduced into operational service in 1983, and slowly replaced the Navy's A-6s Intruders and F-14 Tomcats over the course of the 1980s and 90s. F/A-18s have seen action with the U.S. Navy in both Iraq conflicts and several other operations worldwide, as well as limited engagements with the Royal Australian Air Force.
This particular model represents the EA-18 Growler, an electronics warfare variant that is slowly replacing the EA-6B Prowler as the U.S. Navy's ECW aircraft. Tremendous attention to detail has been taken here to ensure that any collector or enthusiast will be pleased with the high quality construction and accurate detailing.
