The Learjet 35 began as a modification of the earlier 25 model, but entered into production as a separate aircraft. Produced from 1973 to 1994, more than 700 Learjet 35s have been built, including a number of military models. The U.S. Air Force operates the Learjet 35 primarily as a transport aircraft under the C-21 designator, and a number of reconnaissance, maritime patrol, and electronics warfare versions have been produced.
