B-52H Stratofortress

The B-52 Stratofortress is the longest serving combat aircraft still active in the U.S. Air Force, and one of only five aircraft to have a service length greater than fifty years. Since 1955, the B-52 has served as America's primary strategic bomber, and has seen combat in every American conflict since, including Vietnam and the Persian Gulf conflicts. The B-52H is the most recent B-52 upgrade, and is the variant currently in service. In addition to avionics upgrades, the defensive armament was altered to a 20mm Vulcan cannon and the aircraft was adapted to handle Skybolt ballistic missiles.
