Designed for dropping cargo, paratroopers, litter patients and mechanized equipment, this workhorse really earned its name the "Flying Boxcar." Just 1,183 of these aircraft were manufactured during its six years of production. Primarily, the boxcar was used by the USAF for functional transport purposes, but it also had several variants fitted for combat. This model replica is an authentic copy made from quality mahogany and finished with three coats of polyurethane for years of display.
