The Boeing B-29 Superfortress was among the largest aircraft of World War II. It saw limited service during that war, being introduced in mid-1944. It was, however, the primary heavy bomber in the Pacific from its introduction until the end of the war, after two B-29s dropped the first atomic bombs, on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The B-29 continued to see combat after World War II, still being the primary heavy bomber during the Korean War. An upgraded variant, termed the B-50 Superfortress, continued to see use in auxiliary roles until 1960, when it was replaced by newer jet-powered aircraft.
This particular model is painted with a silver finish and U.S. Army Air Force details, matching the look of real-world aircraft as precisely as possible, so that it will stand out as a shining example in any collection.
