Description

Used by the U.S. Navy to replace the A-4 Skyhawk, the A-7 is a subsonic attack aircraft, significantly modified from Vought's F-8 Crusader to optimize the precision ground attack role. The A-7 Corsair II, named after the famous WWII Vought F4U Corsair, contained a number of aviation advances, including a Heads-Up Display, giving the A-7 a long and respectable service record.

The A-7 has seen American combat service in Vietnam, Lebanon, Libya, Grenada, Panama, and the 1991 conflict in Iraq. The A-7 was also used extensively by the F-117 development program, and has been exported to Greece, Portugal, and Thailand, where some still serve as active military aircraft.

Depicted here is an early A-7B Corsair II, as it would have looked in U.S. Navy service. Intricate and precise detailing combines with high-quality construction to make this model a must-have for any enthusiast.
